SPECIAL EVENTS

Verbena: It is a typical Mexican party, where the hostesses offer to the guests, different kind of dishes from many of the Mexican states; meanwhile the guests enjoy the Jaranera Band and the City Hall Ballet. A beautiful artisanal exhibition will be available for the delegates; all artisanal pieces will be on sale.

It will be held on Sunday March 15, from 18:00 to 20:00 hours at the end of the Plenary Session No. 1

Gala Dinner: The gala dinner is a perfect space to enjoy the delegates company and to find the old friends and colleagues; we kindly invite you to wear a typical dress from your country for this special night.

The menu we will offer consist in Tomato Soup, Pibil Chicken, Papaya Dessert and beverage.

It will be held in Sunday March 16, from 19:30 to 22:00 at the Hacianda Chichí Suárez

.We will provide a Gala Dinner Ticket on the Register Area.

There will be transport from the Hotel Area to the Chichí Suárez Hacienda and vice versa.

In case you need an extra ticket, you can get it online or onsite, the cost is $50 USD.

Climate
A tropical, warm and misty City, with scarce rains between January and April and abundant precipitations between June and September; these are some of the climatic characteristics of Merida. The minimum temperature in Mérida during the month of March is 19ªC and the maximum is 33ªC

.Credit Cards

Most Mayor Credit Cards are accepted, as well as traveler's checks in mayor currencies.

Currency
In México foreign currency and travelers' checks can be exchanged at banks and foreign exchange offices. Cash Machines that accept major international credit cards are available at most banks and at the Convention Center "Siglo XXI".

At the time of publication, 1 US$ (dollar) equaled $10.79 pesos, 1 (British Pound) equaled $21.32 pesos and 1 EUR equaled $16.00 pesos.

Drinking Water

Tap water at any kind of hotel, lodges and other public places is not purified; purified water bottles will be provided for free to the delegates into the Convention Center.

On-Site Photo Service

Imagen: Matiz is a photography company that is offering their services to the Conference.

Photographs will be taken of delegates and printed on a daily basis. Delegates will be able to purchase these photographs from Exhibition Photos that will be located besides to the information desk. Delegates have their spools and digital photos printed. Kindly note that this service is for your own account.

Electricity
The grounded plug adapter WA-5 and the ungrounded plug adapter #3, these are the recommended wall outlet plug adapters for México. The electric current used is 110/127 volts.

Shopping
Normal trading hours are 9:00 - 20:00 on weekdays and weekends.

Tipping
In most restaurants and hotels, tips are not included in the price. It is recommended that you add 10% tip to the bill. In México we don't use to give tip for taxi or hairdresser.

Vat

Value added tax, currently at 15%, is levied on the quoted prices of most goods offered for sale and on hospitably services.
